Acolyting means lighting the candles at the beginning and snuffing them at the end of worship. Read more about this in the Kids Class section.
Children are invited to sign up to serve as "liturgists" as well as adults. We just ask families to help them rehearse their readings.
As soon as a child has completed the Kids Communion Class, they are invited to sign up to serve Holy Communion along with adults.
Greeting & Ushering
Children are encouraged to sign up to greet at the door as well as usher, which includes bringing the offering from Sunday School forward at the time of the offering in worship.
Witness & Prayer
Children are invited to lift up prayers while we are sharing in worship, and encouraged to Witness about their experience of God along with adults.
Children's Sunday School sings every couple of months in worship. Several children occasionally play instrument solos. And kids are always invited to use the rhythm instruments during hymns!
Kids Craft Table in Worship
We want kids to experience worship with their families and the rest of the congregation. To make this easier, we have set up a supervised craft table in the worship space. We also have clipboards for kids who wish to sit with their families. The pastor also invites kids to come up to the rug toward the beginning of worship for a special children's message.
