Rev. Gwyneth Arrison has served as pastor of the Bath United Methodist Church since September 1, 2016. She and her husband, Jamie, live in Freeport with their three school-aged children.
Gwyneth grew up outside of Philadelphia but was not raised in the church. She attended Lehigh University to study Mechanical Engineering. After graduation in 1992 she married and moved to Rockport, Maine to begin engineering work at FMC Corporation. Gwyneth began attending a United Methodist Church with Jamie, where she became a follower of Jesus through a Disciple Bible Study. Several years later, Gwyneth experienced a call to ministry. She and Jamie graduated together from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2005, completed a semester internship at the Dresden Richmond UMC, and served as co-pastors at the Peoples UMC in South Portland for six years. They were then appointed to separate congregations in north-shore Mass, Gwyneth at the Merrimacport United Methodist Church.
Gwyneth enjoys kayaking, sailing, skiing, painting and playing bassoon in the Windswept Quintet as well as several local concert bands. She is excited to be serving in Bath, and would love to share more about her call to ministry and vision as well as hear your perspectives and stories. Gwyneth would also be happy to meet one-on-one with you. Please feel free to contact her using our contact form.
Our Lay Leader
Rian Lewis is our Bath United Methodist Church Lay Leader. The lay leader is the primary representative and role model of Christian discipleship and faith lived out in the church and in daily life. Every new lay leader brings unique gifts to the congregation; Rian is especially gifted as a musician and regularly leads worship music on guitar, bass and keyboard. Rian also serves as a supply preacher when the pastor is on vacation. Rian lives with his wife, Cheryl in Woolwich.
